Welcome to David Neal Fine Antique Furniture Restorations.

David Neal is an exceptional craftsman who will understand and respect the history of a piece of furniture, and lovingly return it to its natural state, using only traditional skills and restoration techniques. Not only that, pieces of furniture can be exactly matched – copying chairs to add to or make up a set; copying loved pieces – such as a clock to be handed down as an heirloom.

Established over 25 years ago, David Neal was traditionally trained by his uncle – a master cabinetmaker. From his workshops in North Wales, he has grown an outstanding reputation amongst trade and private customers alike for his unique and expert talent, and passion for his trade.

His work has appeared at Christies and Sotheby’s, in museums, and is trusted by the insurance industry loss assessors and adjustors.

Whether it is a small watermark, or a damaged and neglected piece, or a piece that needs to be reproduced, David Neal is proud of his service and skills. He will meticulously repair your furniture, and match the original wood and patina so the damage will disappear.

David Neal is the North West premier authority on the repair, restoration and preservation of antique furniture and traditional skills used in the restoration and repair of antique furniture. His skills include all aspects of furniture restoration, including carving, marquetry, veneering, colouring and polishing.

The final aspect of furniture repair is usually the polishing – David Neal’s finishing skills are superb. He makes his own recipe bees-wax polish, which will feed and preserve the wood and leaves the piece with a rich, deep shine.
